Memorial Day weekend 2011 is just a memory, and summer has unofficially begun. And while most people look forward to the summer months, some dread the more revealing clothes that accompany the warmer weather.

Sometimes, people see healthy eating and weight loss as all or nothing propositions. In other words, they feel that in order to lose weight, they need to eat the perfect foods, in the perfect portions, all the time.

When people talk about their difficulties losing weight, there are a few common culprits. Some people lack willpower. Some people lack motivation. And a lot of people fail simply because they fail to plan.

We can't shout it loud enough. It seems that the importance of protein for successful weight loss waxes and wanes in popularity. But it's really basic chemistry and biology, and protein is fundamental, make that essential, when it comes to dieting.
